info:
Camie Cragg-Lyman founded CCF in 2011. A Galena High School graduate, Cragg- Lyman, now 35, started CCF after an opportunity to run another gym fell through. Her inspiration came from training with mentor, Max McManus, after a freak accident broke her back at 15 years old. She was told that if she had more muscle around her spine the break would not have happened. She used the information to become a stronger woman, high school athlete, collegiate athlete, NSL Pro Beach Bikini athlete and now personal trainer, mom of two boys and wife. Throughout her journey to CCF, Camie has approached each career move with the same passion and vigor in which she runs CCF now. She puts emotion, passion and energy towards everyone and everything around her. Camie Cragg-Lyman is extremely involved in the community, speaking about goal setting, nutrition and small business success. Through CCF she created the CamUNITY program, which brings people together in times of tragedy. Raising more than $135,522 to date, 100 percent of which is donated. The goal of CamUNITY is to give back in a monetary way, but also to bring support and love during a devastating time. In addition, the CCF team sponsors people and organizations in our community including the Reno Rodeo Queens and University of Nevada-Reno Cheerleaders. Cragg-Lyman is a graduate of Dominican University College and in addition to owning and training at CCF, currently serves as a lululemon Ambassador and Project C founder. Derek Drake

Director of Emergency & Trauma Services, Renown Health
close
info:
Virtually my entire career has been dedicated to leadership in emergency, trauma, and critical care. I am an energetic and influential nurse leader with proven knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively promote the image and voice of nursing inspiring nursing excellence, clinical quality, patient safety, and improved patient outcomes. I was fortunate enough to complete my undergraduate (2009), graduate (2014), and doctoral (2016) nursing studies at the University of Nevada, Reno-Orvis School of Nursing. Completion of my doctoral education has enhanced my aptitude, knowledge, and skill of organizational and systems leadership required to assume various leadership roles in the analysis, delivery, and management of nursing care and health care systems which will benefit countless individuals, populations, and communities from Northern Nevada and beyond. I continually strive for excellence and perfection. I hold national certification as Board Certified Nurse Executive (NE-BC), Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML), and Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL). My Master’s thesis was a qualitative analysis of the lived experiences of sexual identity and expression in males following traumatic spinal cord injury, and my doctoral capstone project evaluated how increasing the number of men in nursing in Nevada would reduce the overall nursing shortage to improve the health and well-being of individuals throughout the state. I have presented the results of both my graduate and doctoral studies to local, state, national, and international nursing audiences, and I am currently attempting topublish these same results in world-renowned nursing publications. I am an active member of the Nevada Organization of Nurse Leaders (NONL) and the Nevada Action Coalition which recently assisted me in chartering Nevada’s first and only chapter of the American Assembly for Men in Nursing. I currently serve as the President of Sigma Theta Tau Nu Iota Chapter, our region’s only local chapter of the international honor society of nursing, and I am the Founding President of the Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Assembly for Men in Nursing. I currentlyvolunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, and I am an active member of Join together Northern Nevada, a coalition committed to fighting to end Nevada’s epidemic with drug and alcohol abuse. I have been named as one of the “Top 40 Nevada Nurse Leaders under "40 Years of Age,” and I was a finalist for the 2014 Institute of Medicine Campaign for Action “Breakthrough Leaders in Nursing Award,” a prestigious award presented to only 10 nurse leaders nationwide. As the Manager of Nursing of our region’s highest accredited Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU), I worked diligently to dramatically transform and build a culture of excellence and patient safetyresulting in 100% participation in employee engagement surveys with an increased average scoreof over 0.5, decreased Cather Associated Urinary Tract Infection rates by 88%, and 100% reduction/elimination of Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections and stage III and IV Hospital Acquired Pressure Ulcers This was all accomplished while reducing the overall ICUlength of stay by 1.1 days. These results did not come without strong leadership, diligence, commitment, and dedication to goals and outcomes which helped lead my team to receive the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Beacon Award for Excellence, a designation no other ICU in the state of Nevada has accomplished to date. In the Spring of 2015 I was promoted to the position of Renown Health Director of Emergency and Trauma Services, where I over see daily and strategic operations of the Renown Regional Medical Center Emergency Department, Renown South Meadows Medical Center Emergency Department, Renown Children’s Hospital Pediatric ER, and Renown Regional Medical Center Clinical Decision Unit. In this position I have led my team to reduce sepsis mortality by more than 25 percent, lowered the rates of our Emergency Department (ED) throughput to be below state andnational averages, and have improved our ED patient experience scores to be the highest in organizational history. The next goal for my team and I is to apply for the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Lantern Award, a designation reserved for the nation’s top performing emergency departments based on clinical and quality outcomes.
