TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or fewer) delivered by today’s leading thinkers and doers. With more than 42 million video views worldwide, TEDxUniversityofNevada has quickly become one of the top TEDx events in the country, helping to shape Reno, Nevada as a destination for thought-leaders.

Bret Simmons leads the charge with his team for organization of the local event, and has heard speeches in Reno dating back to 2013. What makes a speaker special? Who are the most successful ones? How are the thought-leaders chosen?

TEDxUniversityofNevada, an event you won’t want to miss, will be held Saturday, February 23. This year’s lineup includes 22 speakers: 4 performers, 8 local speakers, and 10 speakers from around the country.
