Speaker: Mike Whan; Executive Director of Hot August Nights. Since 1989, Mike Whan has worked on Reno special events. Mike became Executive Director of Hot August Nights, where he reports to a Board of Directors, and the Hot August Nights Foundation, where he reports to a Board of Trustees, in May 2015.
Mike retired from the Reno Police Department in 2012 after 25 years with law enforcement as the Deputy Chief of Police. Leading up to his retirement, he was a graduate of UNR with a BA in Criminal Justice. He went on to attend Senior Management for Police in Boston with instruction from Harvard University and graduated from the FBI National Academy for Police Managers in Quantico, VA
