I was lucky enough to grow up on a cattle ranch in Gardnerville, Nevada, where my love for the outdoors and nature was instilled into me very early. After graduating from Douglas High School in Gardnerville, I moved to Reno to complete my undergraduate education at UNR. After switching gears from Pre-Med to Kinesiology, I graduated with a BS in Health Ecology in 2005. Shortly thereafter I was given an opportunity to intern for a local Prosthetics and Orthotics practice in Carson City. Through this internship, my interest in the field peaked. I quickly realized that this was a career that I wanted to pursue for the rest of my life. Not only was I creating something from scratch and by hand, but this creation was being used in order to better someone’s way of life. I was drawn to the intimate interactions with my patients and the relationships that I was forging. From that point I decided to further my education in Prosthetics and quickly went on to receive my post-grad education and Certified Prosthetist certificate from the Cal-State O&P program in Southern California in 2007. After completing my residency and boards, I was licensed to practice in early 2009. By 2011, I decided that in order to make the largest positive impact in my patient’s lives, I had to create my own practice with my own personal vision and ideals. I opened Forrester Custom Prosthetics, here in Reno, in late 2011 and have been serving amputees all over the region and as far as New York, ever since. I am happily married to my amazing and beautiful wife Brie. We love to travel and enjoy taking advantage of all the outdoor activities that the area has to offer. If I’m not working, you can find me in the mountains.
