Michael Brazier serves as the CEO/President of United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra, where he has the responsibility of delivering on the organization’s mission to link the community’s will and resources to improve lives in our community. He is implementing the organization’s business plan and initiative of improving grade-level reading. Previously, he has led development efforts for leading national health organizations. Most recently, he served as the nationwide strategy lead for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital walk/run program, introducing a volunteer-driven model and increasing corporate engagement that grew revenue by 20% to over $12 million. He started his career in in various roles at the American Cancer Society, where he led community events and staff across northern Nevada and Idaho. He also served in a division-wide strategic role supporting the Relay For Life program. On top of his professional positions bettering our community, Michael spends time volunteering at Center for Spiritual Living, and as the volunteer chair for Northern Nevada Pride. Additionally, he has volunteered with the school district and the homeless youth count.
