As young professionals, we know that it is important for us to be involved in our community. One of the ways that Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network supports this is by providing quality volunteer experiences for our members to be a part of. We recently had two of these amazing opportunities: Night in the Country and the Barracuda Championship. Here are some highlights from the organizers of these volunteer events!
Night in the Country
YPN’s volunteer group for this year’s Night in the Country music festival was a huge success! The charity event, organized by the benefiting organization the Boys and Girls Club of Mason Valley, is all-around rewarding both on and off the volunteer shift.  Meeting new people, helping everyone have a good time, dancing to upbeat music, and relaxing in open space camp areas — we can’t think of a better way to celebrate Summer as a Northern Nevadan.
YPN volunteer shifts included duties such as campsite check-in, beer pouring, table bussing, and concert entry gate check-in. In return for serving a shift or two, volunteers enjoyed free concerts and camping for the entire festival.

Barracuda Championship (formerly Reno Tahoe Open)
This year YPN was asked to help volunteer with the Barracuda Championship (formerly, Reno Tahoe Open). The YPN has assisted in the past with the golf tournament but this year stood out amongst other years for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, Reno Tahoe Open got a last minute title sponsor through the Barracuda Network. Barracuda has agreed to be the title sponsor for the golf tournament for the next four years! Not only does this guarantee the tournament four more years in the Reno-Tahoe area but it will also bring more money to the area for charities and our local environment. This year was also significant for another reason and that was YPN was asked to volunteer and work within the Renegades tent. The Renegades are the who’s who within the Washoe County area business community. Members range from lawyers, lobbyist, councilmembers, business owners, bankers and etc;. It was a great opportunity for YPN as we were able to get face time with some of these leaders.
