Here at YPN we are big on community. We give back, we encourage our members to give back and we honor Twenty under 40 winners who give back; no one wins that award without a huge community service commitment.

So we are super proud of our very own board President, Stephanie Keating, for being nominated by her peers for the Kristine Nagy-Johnson Award presented by The Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention (CAN Prevent).  This nomination was a result of her efforts in helping to prevent child abuse and neglect in our local area, either directly or indirectly, through her profession.

Board President - Stephanie KeatingIn her day job, Stephanie is a ‘Teacher on Special Assignment as a Transition Specialist’  for Washoe County School District’s Inspire Academy. She spends her days working with some of the most troubled students in our area. She is an advocate and a cheerleader for them, helping them and their families get the help they need so they can succeed in life.  She is tireless, devoted, caring, tough, knowledgeable and not afraid to fight for these kids that others might see as lost causes. She terms her students, ‘At promise’, and works to make sure it comes true.

We are proud to celebrate her nomination and we hope that you will too by attending the banquet on October 23, sending her some words of congratulation, or looking for ways you can give back to this community we live in!
