allisonWhat do you love about your business?
I love meeting new people and educating them on their coverage needs.  It’s not just a sales process but rather a consultation.  I feel a sense of pride in knowing that my customers are well informed of the options available when they purchase insurance from me. They know that I am dependable and accessible which allows me to really be hands-on from the point of sale onward.  I love when people refer friends and family to me.  It’s the best compliment!

What do you get out of being a member of YPN?
YPN has given me some great contacts and connections. Whether it’s referring business back and forth with one another or just sharing ideas, you have a community of like-minded business professionals that you can learn from. Not only have I met some wonderful business people but I have made some new friendships as well.  YPN has also allowed be to utilize my side hobby of Graphic Design as a member of the Marketing Committee.

What is your favorite special event in the region?
I have always enjoyed the Reno Rodeo!  Since we moved here in the spring of 2010, we have always made a point to go every year.  Now it’s even more enjoyable that we get to share it with our son, who loves to watch the competitions.  This past year they had the motorcycle stunts at the end and he must have talked about it for weeks.  Definitely a great event to have in our area.

If I weren’t at work right now, I’d be….
Well, as much as I’d like to say something exciting like sky diving or white water rafting, I would most likely enjoy a day at the spa, a chick-flick movie with a good friend and a long nap.  I’m a full time working mom, so let’s keep it real… alone time is few and far between 🙂

My favorite time of day is…
Early morning
because…
I get up early and work out all by myself before anyone else is awake.  I’ve enjoyed pushing myself and seeing great results.  It just starts my day off right and puts me in a good mood when I start it with exercise.

To me, networking is about….
Getting to know people and being the person they think of when they need help.  Networking is a wonderful web of connections.  It can take time to build, but like anything worthwhile your efforts eventually pay off.  And if I can’t help you, chances are I know someone who can.

If you could fix one problem in our community, what would it be and how would you fix it?
I would want to fix the misconceptions about Reno. I grew up in San Diego, California and when people found out we were moving to Reno, we got a lot of “Why Reno?!”  We honestly consider it a hidden gem. If you haven’t been here for any length of time you just don’t understand. We’ve purchased a house here, started a family, advanced in our careers and became a part of the community.

If you were a wild animal, which one would you be and why?
I would be a Cheetah.  They’re fast!  and their coats are just awesome!

If you were a box of cereal, what would you be and why?
I’d be Rice Krispies.  I’ve got a little snap, crackle AND Pop!

If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you and why?
Jennifer Garner.  She’s sweet, down to earth and smart… all characteristics I hope others think about me.

What was the last gift you gave someone?
A blanket that I crocheted for someone go through a rough time.

A penguin walks through the door right now wearing a sombrero.  What does he say and why is here?
He says “where’s the party at?” then he tips his hat and starts singing La Bamba.
