danieWhat do you love about your business?
I love how much investment Peppermill has placed within their organization from employees to the overall product.   Not only does my department have a long term dedicated team but we have an ownership that truly supports and invests in the development of all their employees, giving them many avenues to grow into future leadership rolls for the company as well as for the cities of Reno and Sparks.

What do you get out of being a member of YPN?
Along with building great personal friendships, YPN has given me a great networking tool to build strong business relationships that I will truly utilize throughout my career.

What is your favorite special event in the region?
The Reno Tahoe Odyssey!   Tough but such an accomplishment for any runner/athlete.  You get to see all the beautiful aspects of the Reno/Tahoe area and all on foot!

If I weren’t at work right now, I’d be….
Hiking with my three dogs and fiancé Dom

My favorite time of day is…
After the gym
because…
Life gets set right back into balance and working out makes me feel alert, focused and relaxed.

If you could take anyone in town out for a cup of coffee, who would it be and why?
I would ask Hillary Schieve as I strongly support her efforts to better this community and admire all of her accomplishments throughout the years.   She is a great role model for aspiring business women and is passionate about this community, I think I would learn a lot during our coffee date!

To me, networking is about….
I think networking goes beyond the immediate “now” results and is/should be more about focusing on the developmental aspect of building the connection and trust between two professionals for a strong future partnership and business opportunity.   Never underestimate a connection because you never know when you may need to reach out.

If you could fix one problem in our community, what would it be and how would you fix it?
The overall “image” of Reno and not devaluing our community with our marketing efforts.   From our slogan to our billboards and commercials, Reno needs to be viewed as a “value” and not as “cheap” which are two completely different concepts.   I think Reno is on the right path with the future plans of the university expanding into downtown and creating the true “college’ town aspect but we need to focus on where we are placing our marketing dollars and how we choose to market.

If you were a wild animal, I would be…
A Wolf
because…
Not only are they beautiful animals, they have amazing hunting skills and wait for perfect timing, work together to accomplish a common goal and look out for one another as a pack.   Plus, I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno so definitely support Alfie and Wolfie Jr.

If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you and why?
Jennifer Aniston because she is strong, kind, classy and beautiful.  I am sure most women, including myself, strive to maintain those values in life and any girl would be lucky if Jennifer Aniston accepted!
