What Do You Love About Your Business? With the Barracuda Championship and the PGA TOUR, I have the unique opportunity to work for a professional golf tournament and a non-profit all rolled into one. Professional sports is an exciting industry to be a part of and I’m fortunate to work for one of the few leagues located in Reno. The most rewarding aspect of my job is, as a non-profit, all of our net proceeds go to a wide-ranging list of charitable organizations doing incredible work here in Northern Nevada.
What Do You Get Out of Being a Member of RTYPN? Since moving here 5 months ago, RTYPN and its members have done a great job of making me feel at home. I’ve met so many wonderful people who have welcomed me with open arms and I only hope that I can do the same for other transplants. Being new to the area, RTYPN has helped me dive into all that Reno-Tahoe has to offer.
What is Your Favorite Special Event in the Region? Is this a trick question? The Barracuda Championship of course. Reno is only one of forty-seven cities worldwide that can boast hosting a PGA TOUR event. It’s such a unique opportunity to share our hidden gem, the Reno-Tahoe area, with the rest of the world.
If You Weren’t At Work Right Now, You’d Be? Eating. Cooking is a hobby of mine and I love creating new recipes which is super convenient because I’m constantly hungry.
If You Could Take Anyone Out For a Cup of Coffee, Who Would It Be? My family.
Why? I know the question asks for one person, and I’m sure you are expecting a celebrity or iconic leader but I’m choosing the group of people that mean the most to me. They are all back home in Iowa which is a solid 1500 miles away. I would teleport them here in a second just to spend some quality time with the coolest cats this side of the Mississippi.
To You, Networking is About? Networking is a chance to share ideas with like-minded people across a large range of industries. I’m always looking to learn and grow within my field and in my opinion, there is no better resource than your peers. Plus, it’s an opportunity to meet new people which is my favorite thing to do…after eating of course. (See previous question.)
If You Were a Wild Animal, Which One Would You Be and Why? A giraffe. I would love to know what it’s like to be tall. I’m vertically challenged.
